FACT started as a Facebook page in 2012. It found its audience fast — at our peak we were reaching millions of readers a day with stories so strange they sounded made up.
And then, like most pages of that era, we rode the algorithm’s ups and downs. Long stretches of momentum. Long stretches of silence. Eventually, dormant.
This site is an attempt to revive that legacy on our own terms — daily, sourced, and on the open web. The Facebook page is still where most people meet us. Email is where we keep a direct line, no algorithm in the way.
Some of what we post is dark history. Some is creepy discoveries. Some is scientific accidents that almost killed everyone involved. All of it is checked. Most of it sounds made up. None of it is.
How we verify
Every claim is checked against a primary source — peer-reviewed research, official records, established reporting — before it goes out. Posts that can’t be sourced get cut, no matter how good the story is. If we’re ever wrong, we correct it visibly.
