A hydrogen bomb fell on Albuquerque and nobody remembers. πŸ’₯ . . . May 22, 1957. A US Air Force B-36 accidentally released a 10-megaton Mark 17 near Kirtland AFB. It hit the ground 4.5 miles from the control tower. The conventional charge blew a crater 25 feet across. Only the separately-stored plutonium core kept the city standing.
