The Bomb in the Backyard

The Bomb in the Backyard March 11, 1958. Mars Bluff, South Carolina. A B-47 navigator grabbed the wrong lever. A Mark 6 nuclear bomb fell out. It landed in the woods behind the Gregg family's house. The conventional explosives detonated on impact. The crater was 70 feet wide. Six family members were injured. The playhouse vanished.
