The Human Lightning Rod Roy Sullivan was a park ranger in Virginia. Lightning struck him in 1942. Then 1969. Then 1970. Then 1972, 1973, 1976, and 1977. Seven hits. All survived. All confirmed. He lost eyebrows, hair, a toenail. He died in 1983 — of a broken heart.
