The Segway Owner and the Cliff. James Heselden bought Segway Inc. in December 2009. He was a millionaire British businessman. He loved touring his Yorkshire estate on the two-wheelers. On September 26, 2010, he rode along a cliff path. Witnesses saw him swerve, perhaps to let a dog pass. The Segway went over a 30-foot edge. He was found in the river below.
