The Ancient Computer

The Ancient Computer In 1900–1901, sponge divers found a Roman shipwreck off Antikythera. Inside was a corroded bronze lump. For decades nobody knew what it was. In 2005, CT scans cracked it open. It had 30 surviving gears, with estimates of 37 or more in total. It tracked eclipses, planets, and the Olympics. It was built around 100 BC.
