The Buried Reactor May 1968. Soviet submarine K-27. A liquid-metal reactor failed at sea. Nine sailors died from radiation. Moscow had a tidy solution. In 1982 they scuttled the whole sub. Fueled reactors still inside. They dumped it in 33 meters of Arctic water. It is still down there.
