Beneath Liverpool Street London, 2015. Crossrail diggers hit bone. Then more bone. They had found the Bedlam burial ground. Roughly 3,000 skeletons stacked beneath the city. Some had died in the 1665 Great Plague. Scientists sequenced the bacterium's DNA from a 350-year-old tooth in 2016.
