The Soap Lady In 1874, gravediggers in Philadelphia found her. A buried woman from the 1800s. Her body had not decayed. It had turned into soap. The chemical process is called adipocere. Her fat became a waxy gray substance. She still sits on display today. At the Mütter Museum.
