The Turbaned Tornado. Fauja Singh was born in Punjab in 1911. He took up running at age 89. He had never trained as an athlete. On October 16, 2011, he ran Toronto. He was 100 years old. He finished in 8 hours, 11 minutes. Guinness never ratified the record, as he had no birth certificate. He retired from racing at 101.
