7-Up was originally a lithium drink. πŸ₯€ . . . When Charles Leiper Grigg launched it in 1929, the full name was 'Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda.' Every bottle contained lithium citrate β€” the same compound prescribed today for bipolar disorder. It was marketed as a hangover cure. Lithium wasn't removed from the recipe until 1948.
