He spent 30 years studying plane crashes. Then he flew into one. ✈️ . . . On January 15, 2009, Captain Sully Sullenberger's Airbus A320 hit a flock of Canada geese at 2,818 feet above the Bronx. Both engines died. He had 208 seconds. Before flying commercial, Sully had spent decades as a safety consultant studying exactly this failure. All 155 people aboard walked off the Hudson alive.
