Old Tom recruited humans to hunt other whales. π . . . For decades around Eden, Australia, the killer whale alerted shore-based whalers and helped his pod restrain baleen whales in Twofold Bay. Under the so-called Law of the Tongue, the whalers waited about 24 hours and left the lips and tongue as payment. The wild orca had negotiated his own fee.
