One Switch From Disaster January 1961. A B-52 broke apart over North Carolina. Two hydrogen bombs fell on Goldsboro. Each was 250 times stronger than Hiroshima. One bomb armed itself on the way down. Three of its four safety switches failed. A single low-voltage switch stopped it.
