The Vermont Orphanage

The Vermont Orphanage St. Joseph's Orphanage sat in Burlington. It closed quietly back in 1974. Decades later, survivors began speaking up. A 2018 Buzzfeed investigation broke it open. Vermont opened a formal state inquiry. The task force found credible evidence of abuse. But no human remains were ever recovered.
