Eddie the otter played basketball to keep moving. 🏀 . . . Rescued from the California coast in 1998, Eddie later developed arthritis in both elbows. In 2012, at about age 14, Oregon Zoo trainer Jenny DeGroot taught him to dunk a miniature ball during regular therapy sessions. The crowd-pleasing trick was actually an elderly otter's physical therapy.
