A farmer found a body in a Danish bog β with her braid still intact. π . . . In 1938, Jens Zakariassen was cutting peat at BjΓ¦ldskovdal when he pulled up a woman wrapped in a sheepskin cape, her long hair braided into an elaborate knot. Police assumed she was a drowned animal. She sat in storage for 40 years. Radiocarbon dating later placed her death around 280 BCE β hanged with a leather rope.
