Death Valley's rocks were finally caught moving themselves. πŸͺ¨ . . . In December 2013, researchers watched more than 60 rocks slide across Racetrack Playa. Just 3–6 millimeters of ice broke into floating sheets, while winds around 3–5 meters per second pushed them forward. The famous stone trails were made at walking speed.
