The Confession That Came Too Early In 1983, peat cutters in Cheshire found a skull. Police questioned a local man, Peter Reyn-Bardt. He confessed to killing his wife two decades earlier. Then forensics dated the skull. It was 1,800 years old. He was convicted anyway.
