Captain Cook's Tortoise

Captain Cook's Tortoise In 1777, James Cook handed a tortoise to Tonga's royal family. Her name was Tu'i Malila. She outlived Cook by 187 years. She survived a brush fire and a kick from a horse. She finally died on May 16, 1966. Estimated age: 188.
