The Flying Tailor February 4, 1912. Franz Reichelt climbed the Eiffel Tower. He wore a homemade parachute-coat he had invented. Officials thought he would test it on a dummy. Instead, he jumped himself. The chute never opened. Pathé News filmed the whole thing.
