The Home Run for José José Fernández died in a boat crash on September 25, 2016. The next day, Dee Gordon led off. First pitch, he batted right-handed, José's side. Then switched to lefty. Next pitch, home run — his first of the season. He sobbed the whole way around the bases. So did the stadium.
