The Damascus Incident

The Damascus Incident Arkansas, September 1980. A mechanic dropped an 8-pound socket in a missile silo. It fell 70 feet and pierced the fuel tank. Hours later the Titan II exploded. The blast flame shot 200 feet up. The 9-megaton warhead landed in a roadside ditch about 600 feet away.
