The Straw That Solved It Michelle Martinko was killed in 1979. The case went cold for nearly 39 years. In 2018, investigators followed a suspect to a Pizza Ranch in Manchester, Iowa. They grabbed his drinking straw from the trash. DNA matched. Jerry Burns was convicted of murder.
