Toothpaste was sold with radioactive thorium inside. ☢️ . . . During World War II, Germany's Auergesellschaft sold Doramad toothpaste containing thorium compounds. Its packaging claimed the radiation strengthened gums, destroyed bacteria and gave teeth a “gentle white shine.” Customers were brushing twice a day with radioactivity marketed as dental wellness.
