The Penguin General Edinburgh Zoo houses a very important resident. His name is Nils Olav III. He is a king penguin. He is also a Major General. The Norwegian King's Guard adopted his line decades ago. They promote him at formal ceremonies. In 2005 he was made Colonel-in-Chief. In 2016 he was promoted to Brigadier. In 2023 he became Major General. Soldiers salute as he inspects the ranks.
