Oscar the cat repeatedly arrived just before death. π . . . At Steere House in Providence, Rhode Island, Oscar made daily rounds through a 41-bed dementia unit. By 2007, staff had recorded more than 25 cases in which he curled beside a resident hours before death. Families learned that when Oscar stayed, it was time to say goodbye.
